Bible Impostor: a free Bible game for groups
Gather 3–20 people for a word and social deduction game with Bible themes. Play online on separate devices, or in person by passing around one phone or tablet.
How to play Bible Impostor
The civilians know the secret word. The impostor does not and tries to blend in. Give clues, listen to the answers and find out who is bluffing.
How does Bible Impostor work?
The civilians receive the same secret word, while the impostor learns their role. Each player gives a clue without revealing the word. After discussing the clues, the group votes. The civilians win if the impostor alone receives the most votes. A tie or another player receiving the most votes means the impostor wins. Online, the impostor gives clues but does not vote.
How many people can play?
Each game supports 3–20 players. Play with friends, family or your church group, together or from different places.
Do I need to install an app?
You can play in a browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Online games require an internet connection. In-person games can work offline once the necessary files have loaded and been stored on your device.
Do I need an account to play online?
The host uses an account to create a room, choose the settings and invite the group. Guests can join using a link or code, choose a name and avatar, and play without creating an account.
Is Bible Impostor free?
The basic game is free. Some categories and extra features are part of Premium; you can start playing with the free content.
What is the difference between a biblical hint, a general hint and no hint?
This setting changes only the help the impostor receives in secret. A biblical hint relates to the biblical context of the word. A general hint gives a broader association. With no hint, the impostor only learns their role and must improvise. The civilians still see the secret word.
How do online and in-person games work?
Online, share the room invitation and everyone joins on their own device. The host starts the game, players submit clues in turn and discuss them in chat; use an external call for voice or video. In person, everyone shares one phone or tablet: each player sees their secret, hides the card and passes the device. Give clues and vote out loud.
